Author’s Corner: Meet Evenflo78, author of the TB fic, 'Instincts'

Oct 13, 2011.
Hello, Fanged Readers!

Here with me today is the lovely, evenflo78 whose story, "Instincts", is featured on the Fanged Fics Blog. Evenflo and I invite you to come with us as we head down to Bon Temps, LA to do a little fic research. Evenflo's behind the wheel while I take in the sights Bon Temps has to offer. Since there's not much to see, why don't I squeeze in an interview with her? Hop in!

SL23: Is it okay to call you evenflo78 or is there another name you prefer to go by?

Evenflo: Evenflo is fine, though I'm not too secretive when it comes to my name. Kristy works just as well, also.

SL23: Awesome, Kristy. Well, tell us a little bit about 'Instincts' for the select few who have not read it. What inspired you to write it and how did you decide on the title?

Evenflo: I was pretty angry after True Blood's Season 3 Episode 10, and I really, really wanted to change the ending to that particular episode. Seeing as how I couldn't really do it, I settled for doing it in a fanfic.

Instead of Eric going all caveman and chaining Sookie in his basement, he asks her to trust him. She still doesn't know what he has up his sleeve, but she decides to give him a chance. Ultimately, she ends up in his basement anyway, but at least she chose it.

Many things go differently in my story than in the show, the least of which during season 3. Once I got started, I knew I had to go into season 4 a little ways too, which of course, is quite different. Amnesia Eric is probably one of the only similarities.

As for the title, oh boy, let's see. I don't even remember how I decided it, to be honest. Most of the time I sort of just go with whatever pops in my head at the given time I need one. Sometimes it comes out good - other's, not so much.

For example, my penname was decided because I happened to be listening to the song by Pearl Jam at the time I created my fanfic account. So yeah, I'm all about random story titles.

SL23 - OMG I love that! *laughs* Kristy, OMG! *looks in rear view mirror* How fast are you going?

Evenflo: Why do you ask? *looks in rear view mirror* Oh, crap! He's turned on the lights! *slows vehicle down and pulls over*

SL23: I'm so sorry, Kristy! I must've distracted you with my questions.

Evenflo: Oh, it was so worth it, Julie! Look what's coming our way!

SL23: *gulps* Quick; let's switch seats. It was my fault and I'll totally take the rap.

Evenflo: Hell, no! *fixes hair* Hello, officer. What seems to be the problem?

Jason:  Good afternoon, ladies. Excuse me, it's a mighty hot day today.

Evenflo: *eyes him appreciatively* Yes, very hot.

Jason: So, what's going on? Y'all are speeding down the street like you're late for a hot date.

Evenflo: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, honest. My friend here was giving me an interview for her blog and I guess I wasn't paying attention to how fast I was going.

Jason: *scoffs* A blog? What type of blog? A sexual one? *remembers dancing for Lafayette for his internet site*

Evenflo: *chuckles* No, not like that.

Jason: All right then. License and registration, please. I suggest you hand them right over to me. If you don't, I'll take that as a form of resistance. *slides glasses down the bridge of his nose* You wouldn't want to resist me, would you?

Evenflo: *stares at his 6-pack abs* No, sir. *giggles and hands over documents*

Jason: Hang tight, ladies. I'll be right back. *walks away*

Evenflo: *fans self* OMG he's so gorgeous!

SL23: Maybe I should tell him I'm hiding illegal contraband on my body so he can search me.*laughs*

Evenflo: Mmhm...

SL23: Well, while we wait for him to come back, let me continue asking you questions so I can distract myself from that gorgeous man. *fans self* Is 'Instincts' finished? If not, how many more chappies do you have planned?

Evenflo:  Ummm, it probably should be finished since I've been working on it for over a year now. But, no, it's not complete. I think - and this is just a best guess - it has maybe 10 chapters left.

I never really know a specific number. I just have things to cover, and a story to tell, sometimes it takes longer than others. Sometimes it takes less. *gazes longingly at Jason thru her side mirror*

SL23: I totally understand! Now what part does the show True Blood play in your fic? Did you search spoilers and integrate them as much as you could in the story, or is everything completely your idea/s? Was there anything you and Alan Ball ended up using that surprised you?

Evenflo: I tend to stay away from spoilers as a general rule. So anything that happened prior to the new season's start that was similar was purely coincidental. Now that the season has ended, I do plan to add at least one thing to my story that Alan Ball came up with. I sort of love the Jason/Jessica bit and it'll be integrated into 'Instincts' too.

As far as similarities, Alan Ball did have Lafayette in league with the witches - at least a little bit. And I did sort of foresee it going that way. Lafayette in 'Instincts' has gotten himself involved with the witches as well, so I was kind of proud I'd caught that angle he seemed to be going.

Although, in 'Instincts', Lafayette's witch history and involvement will be going a bit differently. Other than that, I suspect 'Instincts' will be quite different than True Blood season 4.

SL23: Oh! I can't wait to read what you come up with and I know I'll love it. However, I don't know if it'll beat out my favorite scene where Sookie decides to get Bill's blood out of her system. Eric then tells her of a spell and they both set off to get the ingredients. What happened next was so hott! I just loved it and it's my favorite part of your fic. Do you have a favorite part of 'Instincts'?

Evenflo: Oh, Julie, I have no clue. I loved writing that bit, and I've actually had a few readers who told me how much they enjoyed it, and loved how Bill was strange enough to keep hair clippings in his house. (Which is the ingredient Eric & Sookie needed to concoct the potion to break the blood bond in 'Instincts'.)

That part was very entertaining to me. Picture Sookie and Eric, sneaking into Bill Compton's home, upstairs and into his bathroom, where he keeps small trimmings of his hair in little baggies. Oh yes, that was very, very fun. So silly and stupid, but I loved the idea of it.

It's very hard to pick a particular scene that I love more than others, because I tend to hate them later on. If that makes sense *chuckles*

I think, maybe, my favorite scene hasn't happened yet, but will be coming up soon. Maybe. Possibly. Eric and Sookie haven't even done the deed yet. *giggles*

SL23: Yes! I can totally see your point. Well speaking of coming soon, what are you working on right now and do you have any future plans on upcoming fics?

EvenfloHAHA! Most everyone knows, I'm a huge fan of taking on more stories than I can handle. So, let's see, where should I start?

I have two other SVM stories, both of which are surprise pairings.

The first one titled, 'Failing in Love', is all human, and features a sexy, sassy Sookie. She's very flirtatious and outgoing. Although there will be a bit of a dynamic between more than one male love interest in her life, as well as a bit of drama and angst, this is a pretty fun and light story. Lots of humor. I'm enjoying getting back into this one.

The next is an alternate universe story titled, 'Alone I Break'. I sort of began again with this one and forgot about most of what happened in the books. This Sookie is different, her past has been hard, and she doesn't trust anyone very easily. She's actually quite wary of people. She's kind of kickass though, to be honest, and I'm having a great time writing her. More action and drama in this one, since we're dealing with vamps and other supes. There are similarities between this and the books, but things don't at all go the same way.

I also have a Twilight story titled, 'Accidental' and a drabble fic named 'Brand New Socks' that goes along with it. It's a Jasper/Bella pairing in this story, and is slightly AU from the books. It won't be a long story, maybe 6-8 chapters at most. I kind of took liberties with Jasper and Bella's gifts. She's a shield, he's an empath, but when you mix them together everything gets amplified. So many possiblities.

As for others, there's almost always another story cooking somewhere in the back of my brain. But I think I've bitten off enough for the moment and need to focus on these until they're complete. Who knows what will come after that? I know there will be something though. I don't think I can stop. I'm addicted. And I love it. *grins*

SL23: Well, we love everything you write and I can't wait to catch up on all your stories. *sees Jason approaching in the rear view mirror* Oh, here he comes again. Let me ask you one more thing - the obligatory question - what was your first SVM fic and what are you reading right now?

Evenflo: *talks quickly* Can I just hide really quick? Just run away, and not answer that question? No, no, I won't do that. I'll be honest, I'm not reading a single story right now. I want to, I really do, but I haven't had the time to start anything. I suck, I know. Feel free to hang me up and spank me. I'm a bad girl.

As for the first story I read, I think I read a whole lot of not-so-great Twilight stories before I found a fic that kind of stuck with me. 'Pour Some Sugar on Me' by BonTempsCutie was the first SVM story I remember reading, and it read it before I signed up for FanFiction.net. Shame on me, because I don't even know if I ever went back and reviewed it. I probably should, because I loved it so very much, and it inspired me to write my very own.

SL23: Well, it's never too late. There are several fics I need to go back and review myself! Oh, he's back, but why did he put his clothes on? *looks at Jason*
Evenflo: Mmhm...can't decide which is better. I love a man in uniform. Hello, Officer.

Jason:  Well, everything checks out. I'm going to let you ladies off with a warning. *hands paperwork over*

Evenflo:  *makes to take paperwork, but Jason takes it away*

Jason: On the condition that you beautiful ladies stop by Merlotte's down the road over there. I'm off duty now and I'd like to ask you a few questions about your interview. *licks lips hungrily*

Evenflo: *grins* We'll meet you there.

Jason: *hands over the paperwork* Until then, ladies. *leaves*

Evenflo: *starts car and drives to Merlotte's* You down, Julie?

SL23: I still need to make some stops and collect some more info,  so looks like you're on your own. How about we meet back later?

Evenflo:  Sounds like a plan. I might take awhile, though. Things might just heat up. *imagines what she'll do with Jason*

SL23: Have fun tonight, Kristy! Thanks so much for answering my questions. ;)

Author’s Corner: Meet Mazza666, author of the SVM fic, “The Dark Side of the Light”

Jul 6, 2011.

Our Red Passion Room is getting a much needed renovation – so I thought I’d take it down a notch, and partake in a relaxing day at the spa with one of my favorite authors, Mazza666. We’ll get a fab mani/pedi and then finish off with a massage. Ahh! I can feel the stress leaving me already. Join us…

Mazza: *looks at spa* Oh, this place does look relaxing! *hug and kiss* Hi, Julie!

SL23
:
*hug and kiss* Hiya, Mazza666! Is it okay to call you that, or is there another name you like to go by?

Mazza
:
Mazza is just fine. *opens door and walks into the spa*

SL23
: So, Mazza, we are here to chit-chat about your SVM story, “The Dark Side of the Light.” Is it completed?

Mazza:
Yes, I just finished it January of this year *taps fingers on the counter* Umm…hello! Is anyone here?

SL23:
*looks around* Oh, there you are. Hi! Wow…umm…that’s a nice carpet…

RY: Hello, ladies. *stands up* I’m Ry. We’ve been waiting for you. Welcome to The H.E. & A. Spa. We’ll be taking extra special care of you two ladies. Right this way.

Mazza
: *whispers* Well, he had me at, ‘ladies’. How about you, Julie? *looks at Julie and shakes head* Close your mouth, Julie. *chuckles*

SL23
: *closes mouth & giggles* Sorry, never seen him here before, but he’s a very welcome addition.

RY
: The old spa got bought out. I’m part of the new management. *signals an assistant to attend to SL23*

SL23
: Oh, I see. *regains composure* Now, where were we, Mazza? Oh, yes! “The Dark Side of the Light” – love that title. Tell me, what inspired you to write your fic? *sits down*

Mazza
: *sits & looks at Ry appreciatively as he takes her hand and starts the manicure* Well, I had an idea for a while about writing a story that centered on the war between the vampires and the fae. I wanted Sookie to be a kind of vampire hunter trained up by Niall, and then being captured by Eric as the story progressed.

SL23
: Sounds awesome!

Mazza:
*smiles* Then, when I read the first Night Huntress book by Jeaniene Frost, the idea of Sookie seducing vampires to their death, in a quest for vengeance, really took off. A few of the scenes in the earlier chapters are even inspired by Jeaniene’s characters - Cat and Bones – my second favourite supernatural couple.

SL23:
Oh, really? I haven’t read the Night Huntress Series yet, but I will shortly. I’m sure to like it then, especially since I loved the premise of your fic. Now, about your title, how did you decide on it?

Mazza:
Thanks, I’m so glad you enjoyed it. Well, “The Dark Side of the Light,” in my mind at least, refers to Sookie’s discovery that not everything is as black and white as she had originally believed. She learns that not all vampires are intrinsically evil, and there’s darkness to the fae. There’s also lots of secrets amongst her fae family that had previously been kept from her.

SL23:
That sounds amazing! Speaking of which, one of the many things I love about your fic is that though the story has dramatic moments, you also seamlessly integrate a lot of humor and sexual playfulness between Eric and Sookie via their flirty banter. Do you have a preference on writing one over the other – drama or humor?

RY:
*stands next to an attendant* Before you answer that, could you ladies humor us by following us to the pedicure seats?

Mazza: How can I say, ‘no’ to that face? *nods and follows as she looks at her hands* Wow, that was fast, and it looks great.

RY
: *smiles* The pleasure was all mine.

Mazza
: *clears throat after she takes her shoes off, takes a seat, and submerges feet in the water* Well, in answer to your question, Julie, I’d have to definitely go with the flirty banter! The main reason I fell in love with Sookie and Eric as a couple in the books – well, other than the hotness of Eric Northman, of course, was the playfulness of their relationship. It’s why, in my mind, she should never end up with Bill, Alcide, or even Sam.

Screw the babies and a normal life – playful pillow talk with the Viking is all she needs! *laughs* All my favourite fan fics, whether they be vamp-centric or all human, tend to have that kind of relationship between Eric and Sookie. I just think it’s the essence of who they are as characters.

SL23:
*laughs* I love it! Well, besides the hot lemons in your fic *fans self* I have a tie as to what is my favorite part of your story – the part when Bill dies, and the part when Sookie beats Lochlan senseless. *giggles* What was your favorite part to write?

Mazza:
It’s so funny that you like the part when Bill dies as that chapter has always been my least favourite! It feels a little bit rushed to me, but even as the writer, I couldn’t bear to torture him for too long; I just wanted him dead already! Yuk! *laughs*

Well, let’s see I have so many favourite scenes! I, too, love the scene when Sookie beats the shit out of Lochlan. One of my favourite things about writing DSOTL is the fact that Sookie gets to kick ass – Eric doesn’t just rescue her, he helps her rescue herself. But overall, I think my favourite parts to write were the little moments. I liked the ‘morning after’ scene between Sookie and Amelia – I love writing Amelia, she’s just so hilarious and inappropriate – though not necessarily my fave person after Dead Reckoning!

I also enjoyed writing the scene when Sookie gets drunk in the hotel room, and Eric tells her she’s beautiful. *swoons* And some of the Sookie/Eric banter scenes, particularly in the epilogue were fun to write, too.

SL23: Yes, I loved those parts as well! So, now that “The Dark Side of the Light” is completed, do you have any plans to write another fanged fic soon? Any other future plans or upcoming things you’d like to share?

Mazza:
Well, I’m currently in the midst of writing an All Human Eric/Sookie story. it’s called Gerrybag, and it’s set during World War II. After that, if I write anything more, it’ll definitely be another canon/AU fic. I miss writing the supernatural!

SL23:
That sounds great! *water starts draining out from the pedicure bowl*

RY:
*approaches with attendant* Ladies, we’ll be taking you to start your massages now.

SL23:
Hey, we didn’t get the full pedicure yet. *looks up at Ry, and mouth opens in shock as he is only wearing a towel*

RY: I thought you both would like to move along, but if you want to stay, I-

Mazza
: No, Ry. A massage sounds great! *hurriedly dries feet with nearby towel*

RY
: Give us a second ladies, and we’ll escort you to your private rooms.

SL23:
Oh, my God! *spa’s initial’s finally dawns on her as cell phone rings* Who could that be? *looks at cell phone message* Shoot! I totally forgot I have an important appointment I can’t reschedule. *puts cell away* I’m sorry, Mazza, seems I have to go. *sad panda*

Mazza
: Oh, no. Really?

SL23
: Yes, but you go on right ahead; enjoy your H.E.& A. massage. *smiles and dries feet with nearby towel* Well, before I head out, let me ask you the obligatory question: What was the first SVM fan fic you read, and what are you reading now?

Mazza
: Well, the first fan fic I read was Death Eatin’ a Cracker by Misscyn. I think I’ve read it about two or three times now- it’s still one of my absolute favourites.

As to what I’m reading now – God, I think I’ve got about a dozen fics on alert at the moment! I get really excited when I get an alert for, “Immortal Beloved” by All About Eric – the whole world she’s created has totally drawn me in. I’m also really enjoying, “Golden Gothic” by RoseMac – it’s All Human and set in 30’s Hollywood, but somehow manages to stay totally true to the themes and characters we love from the books.

RY:
*ahem* Excuse me, ladies. I’m sorry to see you go, Julie. Perhaps you can reschedule with us. *smiles at Mazza*

Mazza
: *returns the smile at Ry* I’m sorry to see you go, too, Julie, but thank you so much for inviting me to the spa. It’s been something else.

SL23
: I won’t argue with you there. Thanks for joining me, and for such a great interview. *waves good-bye*

Mazza
: *waves good-bye and follows Ry into private room*

RY:
So, are you ready for your H.E. & A. massage, Mazza? *closes door and drops his towel to the floor*

Mazza
: Good Lord *gulps* I…am…ready…

Hope y’all enjoyed that interview just as much as Mazza666 and I did! *giggles* Make sure and check out her story - The Dark Side of the Lightnow completed. It’s a definite must read! ;)

Author's Corner: Meet My Secret O, author of the SVM fic, "Getaway"

May 9, 2011.

Author's Corner: Meet My Secret O!

EricJacobLover  Welcome to the Red Passion Room, dear fanged readers! I’m here with My Secret O, author of the very wonderfully erotic fic, “Getaway” (Click to see synopsis).  Is it okay to call you that, or would you prefer to be called by another name?

MySecretO
Thank you for having me,EJL. You can call me whatever you like.

EJL  Great! Okay, your fic, “Getaway” starts off with our favorite couple going to Iceland.  How did you pick that locale?  The scenes that you wrote there are amazing!

MSO   Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed their trip to Iceland.  It's a country that I have always wanted to visit and when I researched the short day length during the winter, I couldn't resist. It meant there would be more time for our lovers to spend together.

EJL I'm glad you did, their time there was beautiful.

MSO  Iceland is also a country rich in Viking history, so it was good all the way around, plus all the geothermal pools where they could explore nature, naked, without Sookie freezing were all things I took into consideration.

EJL I loved the scene at the pools.  Oh, where are my manners? Would you like a drink?  We've made a drink in your honor, the Taboo Orgasm, its sweet with a little bite..

MSO Please, I prefer to be lucid for interviews; otherwise I might say something I would regret.

EJL *laughs* I’m sure our bartender, James can make it virgin if you wish. Let me call a waiter over. *waves* Al!

Al Ladies, good evening. May I take your orders? *winks at MSO*

MSO * smiles invitingly*

EJL Al, a virgin taboo orgasm for my friend here, and make mine a double, with the hard stuff please. * smiles with a wink*

Al Coming right up, ladies.

MSO *Undresses him with her eyes as he walks away* What a great ass...

EJL *clears throat* Well, I'm not telepathic like Sookie, but I can guess what you're thinking. *giggles* So, where were we? Oh, yes. Tell me a little bit more about your first full fic, “Getaway”. What  inspired you to write it?

MSO  The need to give Eric and Sookie a happy ever after. Books 9 and 10 were very dark, and very hard to read for me. I was desperate for them to enjoy each other.

EJL Had you written anything prior to Fan Fic?

MSO Yes, I had written before, but only scientific papers, and I hated those! Writing fan fiction was the first time I wrote anything for pleasure.  I started reading the books after the third season of TB finished - I read them in a week and didn't sleep much - but when I was done, I needed more.  That’s when I found Fan Fiction. Most of the stories I read used angsty or sad elements to keep the story going, but I wanted to see Eric and Sookie happy and set about to write that. I think CH's books are filled with enough angst and drama, you know? So it was fun to create a fantasy where Sookie and Eric could be happy together. If they wanted something, they got it. It was that simple. I'm not sure I've kept all of my readers interested, but the ones that review seem to be happy with what I’ve come up with.

EJL   I know I am!

MSO The sex definitely doesn't hurt.

EJL   No, definitely not. Well, you’ve struck one of my favorite topics – lemons! Here at Fanged Fics, we LOVE lemons and you are a master of taboo lemony goodness.  Bondage, Dominance and submission, public sex, menstrual sex…just to name a few you delved into in “Getaway”. Oh, by the way, the purple strap-on was a big hit!  Where do you get your lemony inspiration?

MSO   When I started writing, I wanted to take Sookie and Eric to a new place where they could be open, explore and be honest with each other. In my story, they have discovered new ways to love each other. I have a very healthy sexual appetite and much of what I write is based on personal experience and the rest is based on fantasies firmly rooted in my lemony mind. *giggles*

Al Well someone's got adorable laugh pegged down. *winks* Ladies, your drinks.

EJL  Just in time, Al. *takes a sip*

MSO Thank you. *takes a sip*

Al  Anytime.Mind telling me what was so funny?

EJL Maybe MSO can tell you later. *grins* Are you still on the clock, Al?

Al Just got off. I'm going to hang here for a bit. *turns to MSO* Maybe you'd like to join me after you're done with your interview?

MSO I don't see why not.

Al  Excellent. *smiles and leaves*

EJL  *takes a sip* Mmm, that certainly hit the spot. Now, one of the things I love about your fic is how Eric not only dominates in the bedroom, but is also able to switch to being a submissive to Sookie. Is that the case?

MSO  Mmm...yes. This drink is delicious. Well, I'd really like to point out that yes, Eric enjoys playing both sides, as does Sookie. In general, the BSDM in this fic is all about trust and love.  No pain, no discomfort.  It’s all safe and fun. I think it’s easy for both of my characters to switch because my Eric has fully given himself to my Sookie, and their love gives them more freedom. I believe that if you trust someone, you are much more comfortable with them. So, I think my Eric is comfortable being dominated by her because he trusts and loves her.

EJL   Yes, I love that! You know even though there is a lot of lemony play in your fic, the tenderness and love the couple feel for one another always shines through.  Was that a conscious decision?

MSO   Yes, very.  For my readers out there - one of my favorite examples is when they go to Amante's.  Sookie is terrified to perform in front of strangers, but she realizes how incredible Eric feels, and by being a part of the experience she fulfills his desires. To me, I feel that’s what love is all about : making the conscious decision to do something you wouldn't normally do, to step away from your comfort zone, to make someone else happy. *sighs* I'm a hopeless romantic.

EJL  Same here! But besides Eric and Sookie, there is another couple heating up your fic – Pam and her girlfriend, Laurie. Can we expect more from these two?

MSO   Yes, Pam and Laurie are so much fun! I love that I get to write a human putting Pam in her place. Well, I intend to write more Laurie and Pam in future chapters, maybe put a love-spat to spice things up? Their chemistry is already explosive to begin with, but they love to fight and make up.

EJL   Oh great! I can’t wait to read about that. Well, I’d love to know what has been your favorite scene between Eric and Sookie?

MSO  A Meeting of the Minds, A Meeting of the Bodies was my favorite scene.  I loved writing how Sookie dominates Eric. *fans self* Is it just me or is it hot in here?

EJL  *laughs* Oh, was that scene where Sookie ties Eric to a bench?

MSO  Oh yes!

EJL   *fans self* So hot! I don't think it's just you; it does seem a bit on the warm side. *takes another sip*

MSO Speaking of hot, look who else can't stand the heat.*points over to Al and purrs*

EJL Wow! *laughs* Well, before all hell breaks loose, I have to know: If "Getaway" had a soundtrack, what songs would be on it?

MSO *takes a moment to look at Al as he begins to dance* Oh well...Of Montreal has been my major inspiration for the entire story. Songs like "Nonpareil of Favor", "Your Magic is Working" , and "Plastic Wafers" was on repeat loop while I wrote the scene at Amante's. For the club scenes, I was also inspired by their song, "Id Engager" and Lady Gaga's, "Show Me Your Teeth" and "Paparazzi". Also, Hot Rod's song, "I like to Fuck" which suits their sex-capades in the club.

EJL: That's awesome! Another thing I'd like to mention is that you've added a link to your profile page that allows readers to visualize the outfits that Sookie wears. Was that difficult to do? Would you encourage other writers to try it out?

MSO   No, it wasn't difficult, and I’d recommend it everyone. My beta, SeriousCrush, showed me how to use it, so I created a page just for Sookie and Eric. I crave details and if I can provide something tangible that my readers can use to see what I'm describing, then it makes it that much better.  I find it an improvement over posting shopping links that might expire. These links don't go bad; it stays in my shopstyle book forever.

EJL I really love that. Well, this heat's getting to me. Probably the A/C in the club just went out. Let me ask you one final question. What's next for “Getaway”?  Are there any spoilers you can give us?

MSO  Well, I can say that Sookie is ready to leave Las Vegas.  Pam is going to organize a reception since the LA vamps are coming to show respect for Eric, and acceptance for Sookie over their marriage. We'll also get to hang out with Robert a bit more and meet his new girlfriend.

EJL   Oh, yay!  Are you working on anything else that might appeal to our Viking loving readers?

MSO   I just posted a new one shot.  Take me now, you big Viking!  It’s set after Eric takes Sookie to meet Niall in "From Dead to Worse" and they're attacked by that Were that shoots at them and hits Eric in the neck. In this one shot, Sookie offers to help Eric 'recover'. I also have a half dozen other story lines outlined, they've just been waiting while I write “Getaway”, but “Take Me Now...” got through.  I couldn't wait.

EJL Speaking of not being able to wait, seems like someone's calling you over to dance with them.

MSO  Oh my!

EJL Before you go, I must ask the obligatory question. What was the name of the first fan fic you ever read and what are you reading now?

MSO
*eyes Al* The first fic I read and enjoyed was, "Taken" by XDarkDesiresX - it is seriously hot! And the most recent fic I've read is kg1586's, "Girl's Night Out" - can't wait to find out how that ends!

Fanged Fic's- Author's Corner - YoungBoho - Meet the Author!

Feb 25, 2011.
Joining me here in our Red Passion Room is the uber talented, YoungBoho, author of “Meet the Moon” – a True Blood Fan Fic.

SL23:  Hello, fellow Eric Fanged Lovers and YoungBoho – may we call you that, or is there another name you prefer?

YB:  YoungBoho is fine with me, Julie. :)

SL23:  Great! Okay, YoungBoho, I think we better get started. But first, would you like a drink? James can take your order.

YB:  Rawr. I would indeed like a drink. A gin and tonic would taste wonderful right about now.

SL23:  James, a juice cocktail for me please, and a gin and tonic for our lovely guest.

James: Of course. M’lady and lovely guest. *tips hat, winks*

SL23: Mmm, James. Keep that up and you’re bound to get a big tip tonight. *winks* Okay, YoungBoho, I just want to start by saying that we love your fic, “Meet the Moon” at the Fanged Fics Blog. I personally get chills and am constantly on the edge of my seat when reading what Eric and Sookie have to go through in your story. For the readers out there who have not had the pleasure of reading your wonderful fic, could you tell us a little bit about it, and how you came up with the idea?

YB: My story is a little different from anything I’ve read in the fandom so far. It begins right after Godric’s death in season 2 and kind of jets off in its own direction from there. The long and short of it is that Sookie finds out a few pieces of Bill’s betrayal and pushes him away, which does not make him happy. Soon after, she learns of a mysterious “presence” in her house and begins acting strangely. Eric takes notice and drives her home from work one night, when something happens to Sookie that results in her relying on Eric a great deal. A little later in the story, we learn that he needs her just as much.

I actually had no idea how it was going to end up when I started writing it. I’d been so far out of the FF world that I just wanted to get my feet wet a little and see if I could still put a few coherent sentences together. And I really loved Eric and Sookie together and wanted to play with them a little.

SL23:  You’re absolutely right - your fic is so unique! Would you like to reveal more about what type of ‘presence’ is in Sookie’s home for any new readers out there?

YB:  Sure, it's actually a demonic presence.

SL23:  Wow! It's truly fascinating how you introduce this element in your story. How did you mix the SVM world with this subject?

YB: Well, I’ve always been interested in the paranormal and demonic possession, so I thought I’d mix a little of my interests into the SVM/TB universe and see what happens.

SL23: Beautiful magic and awesome writing is what happened! Your fic takes a dramatic turn when this subject is introduced. It’s completely thrilling and riveting. I couldn’t stop reading!

James: Before you get too excited m’lady. Here is your drink, and for your lovely guest. *gives out drinks*

SL23: *takes drink* Perfect timing, James, and don’t be so formal; you’re among friends. This is YoungBoho. You know, the author of ‘Meet the Moon’ - that TB story you just couldn’t stop reading?

James: Yes, of course. I was looking forward to meeting you tonight, YoungBoho.

YB: *Giggles and takes drink* I have to say that it’s very nice to meet you as well.

James: *looks at YoungBoho* Perhaps I could ask you a few questions of my own – after the interview?

YB: I think that can be arranged. *smiles*

SL23: Now look who’s getting excited, you two. *giggles and takes a sip of the cocktail* I hate to bring the tone down, but I really needed a drink to ask you about this next subject. You introduced an original and gripping character that left me speechless when he worked his magic in your fic. Could you please tell me about the shaman, Peter? Are we going to see him again?

YB: Oh, Peter. I love him; he is such a good guy. Basically, he was like a go-between for the mortal and demon realms. He’s very, very powerful and has a certain . . . goodwill about him, which is where a lot of that power comes from. Eric had to pull some serious strings to get his help. Unfortunately, Peter is finally dead and will not be making another appearance in this story.

SL23: No! Really? Aww...I really didn’t want him to die!

YB: I was upset about it, too, honestly, but it had to be done. If it’s any consolation, he left a few helpful tricks/tools lying around to help Eric and Sookie, even though he’s not there to tell them what to do.

SL23: Well, I’m heartbroken, but we must move on... *takes a sip of the cocktail* I wanted to ask you that I found your fic in the early part of November 2010, and in waiting for the updates, I’ve found myself looking back on past chapters. I noticed a few things, like have you been re-writing and editing some of them?

YB: *Sips drink and makes eyes at James* I did make some edits! Last fall I asked the awesome SusanJ51 to beta for me and she was so kind as to go back through all my back chapters and clean up any messes I made. She’s great! I reuploaded a few chapters so far and am trying to find the time to finish the rest.

SL23: So, if I started reading in the early part of November, is there anything crucial you’ve added, or a particular chapter you think your past readers should re-read?

YB: The one big change I made after I posted an update was that Eric had to give Sookie his blood after she was attacked in her home. But that was a long time ago—probably more than a year 0.o. All the other changes I’ve made have been more housekeeping grammar stuff and are more for my own sanity than anything else.

SL23: Perfect! One more thing I wanted to ask you about is the curse Sookie and Eric are under in your fic. It gave me chills when you had them in Eric’s office and it was so hard for them to keep their hands off each other! Just fantastic writing in how they had to fight to stay away. What were your other fans’ reaction to this curse that is thrust upon Sookie and Eric?

YB: *Laughs and takes another drink.* A lot of people were actually jealous of Sookie (though, I can’t say I blame them). People asked me if I was sure I had to break the curse, which made me happy. The sexual tension is a lot of fun to write, and I’m glad that the readers seem to enjoy it as much as I do.

SL23: Yes! I know I was super jealous of Sookie. *laughs and takes a sip* Okay, one last question about, “Meet the Moon.” Can you give us any spoilers on what’s coming up?

YB: *Hmm, good question. I don’t have a set outline in place for this story, more of a general idea of where I want the story to go. I can tell you that we haven’t seen the last of Bill—he’s the big bad in the story, after all. I’m also introducing a few more minor characters who most people should recognize from Season 3 in the next update, one of which will be throwing yet another kink into the Eric and Sookie saga.

I also have a feeling that we’re going to start winding things up for these guys. I wouldn’t expect more than seven or eight chapters before it’s all over.

SL23:Oh my goodness, that's not far to go then. And thank you so much for those awesome spoilers! Can’t wait to read that! Well, YoungBoho, thank you so much for taking the time to come and visit us in our Red Passion Room – where our passion for Fanged Fics is unmatched! But before you go, I must ask the obligatory SVM/TB question. Do you remember the story you read that got you started in the SVM/TB community and what are the ones you're reading right now?

YB: Hmm…I don’t think there was a specific story that made me want to start writing SVM/TB fanfiction. I’d written for some other fandoms before and found that it was a great way to reach out and connect with other fans as well as a fantastic way to practice writing, so after S2 of True Blood ended, I stumbled into TB fanfic.

There are some amazing writers in the fandom right now. Some of my current favorites are "Golden Gothic" by RoseMac, "Hot Blooded" by Jabey, and "An End Has a Start" by moxiemollymo.

SL23: Well, I for one am so glad you took the writing plunge! I can’t wait to read what else you have in store for us, and thank you for sharing with us the stories you're reading.

James: May I take your glasses, ladies?

SL23: Well, James, looks like you got here in time once more. Our interview is done, but I believe you had some questions for Youngboho? No doubt in depth and personal ones? *winks*

James: Yes, you know me so well, m'lady.

SL23: Well, I’ll leave you two alone. Don't stay up too late.*winks*

YB: Oh, I don’t think that will be a problem. *Slowly looks James up and down* Thanks for everything, Julie. I had a great time talking with you!

SL23: Likewise, YoungBoho! *quick hug & leaves*

James: Well, we're finally alone. Hmm...but before I ask you anything - would you care for a cookie?

YB: *wonders how he got out of his clothes so fast* Oh, my! This is going to be a long night. *takes a cookie*
